What the AI design check does
Brand guides get ignored the moment a deadline hits. An agency delivers a poster, a franchise partner posts a banner, and nobody has time to compare it with chapter four of the guide. The AI design check in Branddoq does that comparison for you. You upload a JPG, PNG, WebP or a PDF with up to ten pages, and the check compares the file against your published brand guide on six criteria:

- Typography
- Logo
- Imagery
- Layout
- Tone of voice
Each finding points to a rule in your guide. The verdict is compliant, largely compliant or non-compliant, and you see exactly why.
How the AI design check works: measure first, then judge
Many tools send the whole image to a language model and ask for an opinion. Branddoq splits the work, because a model that estimates hex values is guessing.

Colours are measured, not estimated
The check clusters the colours in your file and calculates the ΔE2000 distance to every colour in your palette. A distance of 5 or less counts as a match, up to 12 as close, above 12 as a foreign colour. The result does not depend on how a model feels today.
Fonts and vector colours are read from PDFs
For PDF uploads, the check reads the embedded font names and vector colour values directly from the file. That is why a PDF gives more reliable results than a screenshot of the same layout.
Every finding needs a rule ID
Claude by Anthropic judges logo, imagery, layout and tone. It receives your guide's own rules, each with an ID. Every finding must reference one of these IDs. A finding without a real rule is discarded, so the model cannot invent requirements your guide never made.
The verdict is deterministic
The model never decides the verdict. A critical finding makes the result non-compliant, a warning makes it largely compliant. Results are cached, so the same file returns the same result.
What your guide needs
The check is only as good as the guide behind it. A readiness score in the client portal and in the builder shows what is missing: colours with roles and usage notes, a logo module with clear space and minimum size, do/don't pairs, imagery principles. Close those gaps and the findings get sharper.

Known limits
- It cannot judge taste or strategy. A layout can be on-brand and still weak.
- Imagery judgement depends on how well your guide describes its imagery. Vague principles produce vague findings.
- Text in raster images (JPG, PNG, WebP) is not read as reliably as text in PDFs. Upload PDFs when you can.
- Colours are compared with the palette in your guide. If a colour is missing there, the check flags it as foreign.
History, feedback and a public demo
Every check is stored in the client portal with its findings, measured values and a preview. You can rate each finding with thumbs up or down, which shows you where the guide needs clearer rules. Four real results against the fictional demo brand VANTIC are public at /ai-check.
