VANTIC

Graphic system

CUTS, PULSE, GRID.

Three graphic elements carry the brand where there is no photograph: the Cut, the Pulse and the Grid. Together with the layout system and the co-branding rules they make VANTIC recognisable from ten metres, in any medium, without a logo.

Graphic elements

The Cut

The Cut

Slanted bars taken from the Vector. Use them as dividers, as a pattern on packaging and as the transition wipe in motion. Always 18° from vertical, always in Asphalt or Ice, one Signal square per composition.

The Pulse

The Pulse

A live data line in Sonic with the peak marked in Signal. Drawn from real session data, never invented for decoration. Appears in the app, on data cards and as the only animated element on the website.

The Grid

The Grid

Eight columns, 8 px baseline, hairlines at 18 % Asphalt. The grid may be visible as a background layer on Ice, like a city map. Blocks snap to it; type may break it.

02

Layout principles

Four rules that make any VANTIC layout look like VANTIC, from a business card to a building wrap.

01

One line, maximum size

The display line is set as large as the format allows, in capitals, tracking −30. If it does not fit, shorten the line, never the type.

02

Photograph or ground, never both

A layout is either a photograph with type on top or a solid Asphalt or Ice ground with type. No boxes on photographs, no photographs in boxes.

03

Lockup in the corner

Top left or bottom left, in its clear space, never centred except on the end card. On dark grounds negative, on light grounds positive.

04

One Signal

Exactly one element in Signal per layout: the square, a button, a shoe. If the photograph already has one, the type does not get another.

Format Margins Columns Display size
Poster A1 / 2:3 6 % of width 6 18 % of height per line
Brochure A4 18 mm 12 96 pt
Business card 5 mm 4 Wordmark only
Feed 4:5 64 px 6 168 px
Story 9:16 64 px 4 230 px
Web 6.6 vw 12 clamp(64px, 12vw, 240px)

03

Co-branding

Co-branding lockup: VANTIC, hairline, partner logo

Equal height, hairline between. Partner logos sit to the right of the VANTIC lockup, separated by a 1 px Asphalt line with clear space of one V height on both sides. Both marks are set to the same cap height, not the same width.

Colour. Partner logos appear in their own colours on Ice, in mono on Asphalt. The Signal square stays. If the partner uses a similar red or orange, VANTIC switches to the mono wordmark for that piece.

Order. VANTIC leads on VANTIC channels and products, the partner leads on theirs. Nobody is ever smaller than 70 % of the other.

04

Accessibility and inclusion

Text meets WCAG AA at minimum, AAA for body copy. Signal is never the only carrier of meaning: a live state is also a label, a peak is also a number. Sonic and Signal never sit side by side without a shape difference.

Body copy never below 15 px on screen or 9 pt in print. Capitals only for display lines and labels. Every motion respects prefers-reduced-motion: speed ramps become cuts, the Pulse stops animating.

Our crews look like our cities. Casting is broad by default in age, body, ability and background. We photograph what people do, not how they look doing it. Every image carries alt text written in the brand voice.

English is the brand language, sentence case, plain words. Local markets translate body copy, never display lines and never product names. Numbers, units and times follow local conventions.
