brandpad alternative

Brandpad alternative with AI design check

Brandpad comes from Norway and is built for design agencies that want beautiful guideline pages. Branddoq covers what happens after publishing as well: an AI design check against the guide, a media pool with ZIP downloads and hosting in Germany.

Who Brandpad is for, and who Branddoq is for

Brandpad is a brand guideline tool from Norway focused on design agencies: a free Starter tier, paid plans on request, design-led pages. If you mainly want to hand a polished guide to a client and stop there, Brandpad does that well.

Branddoq is brand guidelines software for agencies and in-house teams that need the guide to keep working after handover: a website built from modules, a media pool with ZIP downloads, and a check of every new layout against the guide. As a Brandpad alternative, Branddoq is less about presenting the guide and more about whether people follow it.

Where Branddoq is the better fit

You want the guide to enforce itself. Anyone can upload a JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF (up to 10 pages) and have it compared with the guide on colours, typography, logo, imagery, layout and tone. Colours are measured (ΔE2000), fonts and vector colours are read from PDFs, the rest is judged by Claude against the guide's rules. Every finding names the rule; the verdict is deterministic. Four real results are at /ai-check.

You want structured brand rules, not just pretty pages. The logo module stores variants, clear space, minimum size, allowed backgrounds and forbidden uses. The colour module carries HEX, RGB, CMYK, Pantone and RAL. Typography modules host your own fonts. The design check reads exactly these fields.

You need one place for guide and assets. The media pool has folders and ZIP downloads, so guide and files sit under one login with admin, editor and viewer roles.

Hosting in Germany matters to your clients. Hosted in Germany, self-hosted fonts, only necessary cookies, data processing agreement available.

Where Brandpad is the better fit

If you want to start free and put the visual presentation of the pages above everything else, Brandpad is a reasonable choice. Branddoq's editing workspace is German today (the landing page is EN/DE), guides live under branddoq.io/your-slug without custom domains, and there is no SSO, API or Figma plugin yet.

How to switch from Brandpad to Branddoq

  1. Export your content. Collect texts, colour values, fonts and logo files from your Brandpad pages; screenshots serve as a checklist.
  2. Rebuild pages with modules. Try the sandbox at /demo, then create your guide from ready-made modules; on Premium and Enterprise the AI drafts it from your PDF.
  3. Move your assets. Upload logos, templates and images into media pool folders.
  4. Invite team and client. Assign roles, set public or protected, publish, run a first design check.
